The experience of Kankaria Lake, however, really accentuates when Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation diligently organises the Kankaria Carnival on the last week of the year, starting on the day of Christmas till the end of the year. The first Carnival took place in 2008, the year when Kankaria was redeveloped. Since then, the festive vibe of the Carnival has just been getting better and better.
Kankaria Zoo Timings
Also known as Kamla Nehru Zoological Garden, Kankaria Zoo is situated on the lake’s outer premises. The zoo, which was established in 1951, spreads over a sprawling area of about 117 acres. Currently, it houses about 2000 species of birds, 450 mammals, and 140 reptiles.
Kankaria Zoo Timings: 9:00 am to 6:15 pm (March to October); 9:00 am to 5:30 pm (November to February); closed on Mondays

For the last 7 days of the year, Kankaria transforms into a haven of music, dance and arts that expresses the enthusiasm of the city. So, this New Year’s Eve, become a part of this propitious celebration from 7 till 10 p.m.
